BadEagle: Getting appropriately harsh with Illegals

Some things that seem harsh make the most sense, have the best outcomes and elevate the interests of the many as being more important than the interest of the few...or the dumb. If we are to be truly "ethical," then we must allow for bad consequences to be visited upon people who do stupid things, or break the laws of a nation, or ignore the laws of nature. To do otherwise sends the wrong message to others who might be inspired to take dumb chances, and serves as the basis of a nanny-state socialist form of democracy.

David Yeagley, a direct descendent of the Comanche warrior Bad Eagle, puts things in a very clear perspective.

Journal Weblog: Illegal Immigrants Must Die!

If they take the risk of committing an illegal act, and associate themselves with the underworld, then when they happen to get shot here in America, they do not deserve to be taken to an American hospital. They should be left where they fall. It is no one's fault but their own. That would compassionate, and just. If no illegal assistance were given them, others would not be encouraged to take the same risks. That would be compassionate. If they were left to die where they fell, they would only be paying the price they agreed on--by circumstancial association. That would be justice.

I really admire Yeagley. He's always thought things through in unique and substantial ways.
