Unabashedly Unhyphenated: When re-engineered words attack!

Jake Jacobsen over at FreedomFolks pointed his readers to a rather interesting piece this morning. It seems that there is an actual group of academicians called the Modern Language Association that annually takes up the task of telling us which words and phrases we should no longer use.

Last Friday, apparently under the influence of too much "nog," this intrepid group's Delegate Assembly voted 73-30 to encourage a ban on the term "illegal alien" in favor of the very PC "undocumented workers" substitute. Apparently almost simultaneously some PR folks from Lake Superior State University released a list of banished words and, here, it was a term similar to "Undocumented Worker" that was proscribed.

UNDOCUMENTED ALIEN -- "If they haven't followed the law to get here, they are by definition 'illegal.' It's like saying a drug dealer is an 'undocumented pharmacist.'" -- John Varga, Westfield, New Jersey.

I'll say it again: This wholesale sellout to political correctness is going to kill us if we don't kill the concept first. PC words and phrases deserve only to be met with a greater level of scorn than the concepts behind them dish out; for instance, those of us whose primary disdain for current immigration policy comes from alarm that the conductors of this policy haven't a clue about what their actions (and inaction) might or will do to our culture for future generations are immediately branded racists for bringing the matter up.

The whole thing got me a-thinkin' that it is high time that we come up with a list of mocking terms for other "high crimes and misdemeanors" that we could use to juxtapose and isolate PC speak whenever possible. I'll hunt for suggestions from my readers. Here's my start:
