Historically, Mexican re-writes of national anthems should tell us something
As many of you know, I detest the Latino re-write of The Star Spangled Banner almost as much I detest Vicente Fox, his kleptocratic regime and all Americans who facilitate his using our treasury as a relief valve. I was reminded by a friend who knows this stuff cold that on the evening of the first Cinco de Mayo, Mexican troops mocked the French by loudly singing the French Anthem, La Marseillaise, in spanish. Of course, that "victory" lasted about as long as a popsickle on the summer pavement, but since there isn't much more than a single, short-lived victory to celebrate about being Mexican, I guess they aim to make the most of it.
Here's to hoping that history repeats itself and the invaders are soon making a hasty retreat, as is their historical habit. Hell, they ran from the FRENCH! That ought to put a smile on the faces of all who yearn for strong, defined borders and strict enforcement of our existing immigration laws...before our legislators screw it up even more by passing another bad law that they will only selectively enforce.
Technorati tags: George Bush, day without latinos, Senate Idiots, La Raza, kleptocrat, Vicente Fox, protest, amnesty, La Marseillaise, Nuestro Himno
