Unabashedly Unhyphenated: What's it mean for America that Britain's white voters are becoming more likely to act as a self-interested bloc?

This Easter Sunday, I'm going to be blunt about both the cultural and religious components that spur our leaders' ongoing attacks on American heritage. This nation was founded by Protestants who were either the blood or the idealogical descendants, or both, of Puritans. Adrift in immigrationist doublespeak, America appears about to come apart at the seams; a new revolution may well be afoot. I'm increasingly convinced there will come a virulent backlash as America's original core comes to terms with the reality that we have never been, and cannot ever be, the "tolerant" sort of people the left and its intellectual allies would like for us to believe. More and more of us are going to rediscover that America did not succeed because of such a wishy-washy mentality about itself, it became great because of a fervent intent to be harshly selective about who was allowed to call themselves "American."

Let's face it. Our compelled form of assimilation is a harsh act. It is a demand that all who come here cease being what they were and abandon all allegiance to their origins. It insists that every newcomer make himself or herself a blank slate upon which a whole new set of ideals may be imprinted. If you pay attention to the milquetoast language that our leaders use, it is so effeminate in comparison to the language used by past leaders when confronted by similar situations. Bush, Frist, and his disingenuous allies in Congress would have us believe that assimilation merely requires learning the language and memorizing a bit of historical minutiae. But American assimilation requires far more. Assimilation is, at its core, a perpetual insistence that "you came to a land that is exceptional, you better figure out what that means, and you'd better take it to heart; the land from which you came is an inferior failure at some basic level or you would not want to be here with us." The language of real American assimilation also dictates that those who do not completely buy-in to becoming who we are, are not welcome to stay.

If this nation's leaders continue to make the mistake of pandering to Latinos to the detriment of America's foundational majority ethnicity for much longer, there will be hell to pay for both political parties. This will be especially so if immigrants, both legal and illegal, are let off the hook for violating our laws, have their alien languages further accommodated, and if they are allowed to keep thumbing their noses at the Americanization process. The majority of European-blooded Americans, still nearly 70% of us, are already stirring angrily. The key back-channel reason for what our leaders are doing to us is a racialist attack against the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution that is a very unsubtle attempt to minoritize us. The truth is getting brighter by the minute thanks to the Brown folks waving Mexican flags on American soil, so watch out when all the lights are all turned on in the minds of white America; doubtless, there will be backlash acts in keeping with human nature. Groups like International Answer don't realize how much they assist white American citizens in finding their ethnic voice, political correctness be damned. The day draws closer in which the blood sons of the founders will take out their fury on those attempting to make fundamental changes in the nature of the culture, values, ethos and mores that their ancestors bled and died to create. The only thing that I see as yet to be determined is what sorts of actions that "taking out their fury" will entail.

Another element of the same back-channel chatter answers the question: "why aren't America's black leaders just as ticked off about suddenly representing this nation's smallest significant minority?" Rather than being concerned about their greater predicament, there is a gloating, "let's see how you like not being in the majority" racialism involved. How much hate does it take for any ethnicity to do irreversible harm unto itself, just to see another ethicity harmed? And how much self-loathing does it take to maintain such vengeful glee as your own status evaporates?

Now for religion. The other operative back-channel meme is revising this nation's religious makeup in a manner that will create a Protestant/Catholic plurality that only serves to further weaken our unity and resolve. The Catholic Church has for centuries resented the fact that American Catholicism has had to exist within a framework that is a distinctly Protestant production. American Catholic diocese differ greatly both from their Latino and Vatican counterparts. The Vatican does not like this, and it has a pronounced antipathy for the accomodations it historically has had to make merely to be allowed to exist in America. I can almost hear Italian bishops salivating at the prospect of having a hand in the demise of the hegemony of American Protestantism, and its outrageous (to them) belief that America's rise was an act of Providence.

It really doesn't take a lot of smarts to figure this stuff out. It only takes a commitment to look around at things realistically. The key is letting history, human nature and what is happening in other Western nations guide you:
