Davos World: flummoxing the xenophilics
There's been a supertanker-sized load of whining from narrow swaths of pundits over the middle American uprising that drove a stake through the heart of the Dubai port deal and those who loved it. The whiners have unsheathed and shown us their only weapon: ad hominem cries of racism, bigotry and xenophobia.
Well to that I say: shut your yaps you drooling xenophilics! Your name-calling does not scare us any more. When there comes an alliance of various America-hating leftists, globalists, corporatists, neo-conservatives, the Bush Administration and, of course, the self-absorbed intelligentsia of the MSM, America can rest assured that it got it right when it smote Congress into a corner and kicked the UAE out of our ports.
The fact that Americans overcame quite easily the name-calling, their politically correct programming and the deeply implanted virus of the intellect called "tolerance" bodes well for our efforts to force Congress to end our 40-year immigration nightmare. Everywhere I go, I detect fresh air being unleashed as American thought is liberated after spending 40 years being closeted by Orwellian double-think!

Panic in Davos World
Patrick Buchanan, RealClearPolitics
"What happened to the ports deal is that Davos World collided with America First and got its clock cleaned. Economic patriotism, which engages the heart, thumped globalism, an intellectual construct of economists and corporatists.
Not to understand this is not to understand America. Though Bush may be an open-borders, free-trade Wilsonian who believes he has a providential mission to democratize the world, America, even when it was 90 percent with him, never bought in. To Middle America, Afghanistan and Iraq were always about punishing the people who did 9/11, not about converting them to Jeffersonian democracy.
What [Fred] Barnes calls paleo-conservatism is the conservatism of the common man, rooted in tradition and wisdom born of experience. It is not the Big Government, open-borders, free-trade, interventionist, globaloney of the neo-cons and their Rebel in Chief."
