Katie's Dad has twenty-two ideas for immigration reform (so far)

While reading all the other articles and blogs regarding our buffoon-in-chief's Monday speech on border control, it occurred to me that I have never laid out my full wish list for immigration reform. I'm unabashedly hard-core about this.

Here goes:
  1. Enact a 10-year all-immigration time-out to put our borders back in order

  2. Force attrition of the illegal alien population through employer prison sentences, corporate fines and forfeitures for illegal hiring practices

  3. Ramp up deportations over a five-year period to prod those who do not leave after the attrition plan has started the exodus

  4. Re-implement and get national buy-in for the strict assimilationist polices that worked in the first two-thirds of the last century

  5. Eliminate the anchor baby loophole via Congressional act

  6. Eliminate all government documents that are not written in english including voter materials

  7. Get at least three-quarters of the states to implement official english language amendments to their own constitutions, then do it nationally if possible

  8. Wall off the border where feasible, use high tech to seal the remainder

  9. Deduct the estimated cost for healthcare, education, infrastructure, taxes, and wage deflation from federal aid to any nation that does not enact and enforce its own tough plan to keep its citizens from emigrating

  10. Deduct the estimated total social cost to age 18 for Anchor babies already born from federal aid to the home country of their parents

  11. Add a 25% surcharge to all cash person-to-person wire transfers if the remittance is going to a nation that is one of the top ten sources of illegal aliens

  12. Make any municipality that keeps "sanctuary city" laws on the books ineligible for Federal funds

  13. Arrest, fine and evict any foreign consular officer caught lobbying any elected official on behalf of illegal aliens

  14. Make possession of the Matricula Consular card without an accompanying valid passport, visa or green card a misdemeanor with violators subject to arrest until their status can be determined

  15. Repeal the "No Child Left Behind Act" because it has caused schools to drop American History from school curricula, which is necessary for assimilation (and for a bunch of other reasons)

  16. Make study of the "History of American Immigration" a requirement for all public K-12 teacher certifications for history education (Emma Lazarus should not be THE AUTHORITY on this issue)

  17. Withhold Federal education funds from any state that allows illegal aliens to attend state colleges and universities

  18. Provide tax incentives for companies that could, but do not use visa workers or send service sector jobs, contracts or work to other nations

  19. Implement a surcharge for each H1B, L1 or similar visa to be paid by the sponsor company to provide jobs for "caseworkers" to monitor the wages and status of the visa holders

  20. Make colleges and universities more responsible for knowing the whereabouts of the foreign students they recruit through visa processes

  21. End the Cuban Adjustment Act

  22. End the "wet-foot dry-foot" preference for illegal aliens from Cuba
Does anyone have any additional good ideas for policy changes?
