The sleeper issue that won't go away, no matter how hard Karl Rove wishes
Yesterday I got another one of those phone calls from the GOP asking for some of my money. This time it was from the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). Again, I sternly rebuked the caller for bothering me with such drivel as long as President Bush and the shrinking pro-amnesty majority in Congress insists that they know better than the American People what is good for our future as far as immigraiton is concerned.
"I'm hearing a lot of that, sir," the frazzled phone solicitor stammered. "And I know it won't mean much to you, but since he was elected, President Bush has hired thousands more border patrol agents..."
I was somewhat taken aback by his candor. "I know it won't mean much to you?" Darn tootin' it won't mean much to me! This kid must have been getting an ear-full from an increasingly immigration-policy-educated conservative base. For the first time ever, I ended one of these calls sensing a true air of defeat having emanated from the other side of the phone line. It pleased me to recall that at a time long passed, the NRCC actually trained me to work on a Congressional campaign.
I think critical mass is on the visible side of the horizon. Let's keep the pressure on, folks. We can and will kill the forces of cultural darkness and decay exemplified by the McCain-Kennedy travesty if we keep our spirits up and Congressional ears burning.
Fear us. We are legion and we are pissed. We no longer fear those of you who wield nothing but trite synonyms for "intolerance" as vacuous weapons in their attempts to stop us from keeping the republic you have sought to dismantle since about 1965.
Secure borders: the hot issue

"More broadly, the American middle class is finally saying, 'Enough.' Enough of illegal immigration, enough of multiculturalism, enough of carelessness about homeland security. The Silent Majority will no longer allow an arrogant elite to speak for it on fundamental issues of national and cultural destiny. The Lincoln vision - a house not divided against itself - looks pretty good right now."Technorati tags: immigration, multiculturalism, balkanization
