Send troops for recovery...and to the borders

If you do a bit of Google searching the news you'll find that it appears President Bush is considering suspending the Posse Comitatus Act in response to hurricane Katrina.

For me, this begs a question: If it is reasonable to suspend posse comitatus for a disaster or a terrorist attack, why is it not reasonable to suspend it for border enforcement? And if it is reasonable to suspend it for any purpose at all, shouldn't invasion be one of the purposes at the top of the list?

I'm in grudging agreement that our military needs to take an active role in Katrina recovery, but only if it is also used to secure the borders.
