Note: I'm fixing this post. I had saved it as a draft, but Blogger somehow published it anyway.
America came about as a result of Colonial-style Protestantism and Puritanism. Our particular ethos, born of a moral and cultural revolution that began years before the first English arrived here, set the stage that allowed the minds of Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, et. al. to spring forth. The under-informed, particularly of the left, cling desperately to modern-lens-warped interpretations of the words of our Founding Fathers. But they never consider the founding citizens. That just seems odd considering it is We, The People, who run this place.
Whose Constitution Is It?

"The moral and legal authority of the Constitution comes from those who ratified it -- 'we the people' -- not those who wrote it.
The writers of the Constitution themselves understood this.
That is why some of these writers also wrote 'The Federalist Papers' to explain to people across the country why they should ratify the Constitution."
