I'm baaaaack...no thanks to the dolts at Yahoo Internet Services
Hi friends. I'm back after an unintended two-day hiatus in which Unabashedly Unhyphenated and AmericanKernel.com were out of service due to circumstances beyond my control.
A word of advice: NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use Yahoo! for hosting or domain registration. They're good for searching and purchasing, but they just don't get this web hosting stuff right. Plus, they'll stick it to you VERY HARD if you ever try to leave them. I followed their instructions for making the transition and ended up with the DOMAIN NAME SERVERS (DNS) throughout the whole Internet being unable to find the site. It seems as though what I went through is their standard operating procedure, not some blip in operations.
If you are an unlucky sort who already has hosting or registration through Yahoo!, then I suggest you run for the hills. Find another host/registrar.
And by all means, ask for another tech support person if you find yourself dealing with "Owen."
